Visit to Ghana

.

Arrived in Ghana at Kotoka Airport, I was warmly received by a team of three of the partner association, the Heneson Reaching Out Foundation (HROF).

Here are the goals of the project work:

A basic examination of the children entrusted to us by a team of doctors by the Manna Mission Hospital in Teshie (3 doctors, 3 assistants)

2. A first aid course for parents and children, carried out by the ambulance team (3 paramedics).

3. Fire protection exercises

4. Environmental project garbage collection

Preparations for this project started weeks before by calls for donations in Bispingen and various car dealerships in Soltau. There was also a purchase for first aid at the DRK in Soltau.

A donated emergency and rescue doll (dummy with accessories) was very special. This was then handed over as a donation for the Manna Mission Hospital and accepted with great pleasure for the training of the nurses.

As a place for this project, we selected a aging and dance school "Akumapa" in Teshie.

Preparatory, we renovated and painted the facade of the house with the "HROF Team", the driveway and the wall, which was in place.

So that we were able to carry out the project to the best ways and to set up three examination rooms, we have rented 3 large tents, tables and chairs.

At the same time, these 3 tents offered enough shade and seats to the parents and children.

In order to be able to implement all of this, we spoke in advance with all institutions, the medical team, the local outpatient clinic and the fire brigade and met agreements on the scope of the exercises, the examinations and the time process.

The exchange about the test results took place in some cases. Some children were positive malaria, some of them could be seen.

Preventive examinations that are prescribed here for the benefit of the child are not available in Ghana, also no health insurance system to pay costs, for example investigations of pregnancy provision and the assumption of costs for a stay at birth at birth.

The discussions about the test results have been completed, glasses have been prescribed and a cost of the necessary medication was created.

Health care and care, according to statutes III. Medical care grants our FRIENDSHIP WITH Ghana e.v.

In a final conversation with the director of the hospital, he expressed the request whether it would not be possible to support the maternity ward with initial decorations for infants. Very young women often come unprepared, even without a previous gynecological examination for childbirth. I was able to convince myself of such a case.

Another campaign of my trip was the distribution of carepakets, excellently coordinated and completely prepared by our contact person Jacob Tetteh, as our association has finished them since the Corona period. During this distribution, I was able to get an insight into all families and find out how our children developed positively.

When visiting 4 selected schools, I was confirmed that our children also have a positive development here. In *back travel baggage ”to Germany I had applications for financial support from 11 children whose situation is precarious. We have now decided to take on school fees for you.

It is important for club activity that the children, families and schools are visited once a year by a member of our association. These trips are always financed privately.

We are urgently looking for supporters, donors and happy sponsors.
